Oil Spill at 10" OSHIE-OGODA DELIVERY P/L@IDU-EKPEYE

On arrival at the site on 14/05/14, the NAOC representative explained that there was a spill incident at the site in question, and that a cleanup exercise was already ongoing before the fire outbreak. He stated that no work was being carried out on the day of the fire outbreak, and the cause of fire outbreak was unknown. The fire incident was confirmed and the assessment of the burnt site was carried out. Also grasses had grown everywhere on the site covering most area of the burnt site, we gathered from the comm. rep that the fire outbreak happened on the 6th of march, 2014.  Fire extended beyond company’s ROW.  Palm trees were affected by the fire.  Estimated area affected by fire as given by the surveyor is 6,943m2 but from mapping coordinates captured by the surveyor, the area was calculated by PHZO GIS office as 11,800m2.
